Child & Adolescent Therapy
We're here to Support
Child & Adolescent Therapy
Growing up is hard. Big feelings, social pressure, school stress, family changes, and identity questions can feel overwhelming…especially when kids and teens don’t yet have the words or tools to explain what’s going on inside. Child and adolescent therapy provides a supportive, age-appropriate space where young people can feel understood, build coping skills, and grow with confidence.

More About Our Child & Adolescent Therapy
Who We Work With
We provide therapy for:
-
Children (typically ages 5–12)
-
Adolescents & teens (typically ages 13–18)
Each stage of development comes with unique challenges, and our approach is tailored to meet your child where they are emotionally, socially, and cognitively.
Common Concerns We Support
Children and teens come to therapy for many reasons, including:
-
Anxiety, worry, or excessive fears
-
Depression, sadness, or low self-esteem
-
Emotional outbursts, irritability, or anger
-
Difficulty with attention, focus, or impulse control
-
School stress, academic pressure, or avoidance
-
Social challenges, bullying, or peer conflict
-
Family transitions (divorce, separation, blended families)
-
Grief, loss, or major life changes
-
Identity exploration, including gender or sexual identity
-
Trauma or stressful life experiences
If you’re unsure whether therapy is the right fit, we’re happy to help you think it through.
Our Approach
Therapy is not one-size-fits-all. We use evidence-based, developmentally appropriate approaches that may include:
-
Play therapy for younger children
-
Talk therapy and skills-based work for adolescents
-
Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT)
-
Emotion regulation and coping skills training
-
Mindfulness and body-based strategies
Sessions are designed to feel safe, engaging, and respectful (i.e. not forced).
Working With Parents & Caregivers
For children and teens, therapy works best when caregivers are part of the process. While your child’s privacy is always respected, we collaborate with parents to:
-
Share general progress and themes
-
Offer parenting tools and support
-
Align strategies at home and in therapy
Our goal is to strengthen the entire support system around your child.
What to Expect
-
A thoughtful intake to understand your child’s needs
-
Clear goals developed together
-
Regular check-ins to make sure therapy is helping
-
A compassionate, non-judgmental environment
Therapy isn’t about “fixing” your child; it’s about helping them understand themselves, build resilience, and feel more capable navigating life.
